On a cold, rainy Sunday in Leamington Spa, hundreds of budding athletes, seasoned marathon runners, and dedicated charity supporters descended upon the Wolf Run. Unfazed by the bitter gusts of wind and the icy rainfall, our team of six runners proudly joined the challenge - all in support of St Richard’s Hospice. I was there too, cheering from the sidelines and helping to keep morale high throughout the day.
The Excitement Builds
It was my first time attending a Wolf Run, and I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The excitement began before we even arrived, with a long line of cars waiting to get into the car park — a clear sign of the scale of the event. As we walked towards the start line, the energy was unmistakable. Groups of friends, colleagues, and families were all ready to take on the mud, water, and obstacles ahead.

Taking on the Course
The Wolf Run is no ordinary challenge. It combines running with an intense series of obstacles designed to test strength, stamina, and above all, teamwork. Our team faced it all: towering climbing frames, rope nets, steep slides plunging into icy lakes, bridge jumps, and even a cold-water swim that took everyone’s breath away.

While the rain made conditions tougher, it also added to the spirit of the day. Each obstacle became an opportunity to work together. We pulled, pushed, and encouraged one another to keep moving forward. The camaraderie was incredible, not just within our own team but across all the runners taking part. Everyone was there to push their limits, get covered in mud, and, most importantly, raise money for causes that matter.

Why We Ran
For us, the run was about more than just testing endurance. It was about supporting St Richard’s Hospice, our chosen charity of the year. The hospice provides compassionate care and support to patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Taking on challenges like the Wolf Run helps us contribute to the vital work they do every day.

The Finish Line
By the end of the course, soaked, muddy, and exhausted, our team crossed the finish line together - tired but smiling. The sense of achievement, knowing we’d not only conquered the course but also made a difference for St Richard’s Hospice, was well worth the effort.
A huge thank you to our team of six for their determination, teamwork, and good humour in the face of cold water and endless mud. And thank you to everyone who supported, donated, and cheered us on. We couldn’t have done it without you.
Looking Ahead
While the weather may have been grim, the spirit of the day was anything but. We’re already looking forward to the next challenge.
