Celebrating 35 Years of Aqua Protec: A Journey Through Time

Today marks 35 years since Jim Carter founded Aqua Protec Ltd back in 1990. What started as a small, family-run business with big ambitions has grown into a trusted name in water hygiene and treatment, proudly supporting hospitals, care homes, schools, and organisations across the UK.

We’re taking this milestone as an opportunity to look back at where it all began and how far we’ve come.

📸 From St Andrews Court to Two Offices

In the early 90s, operations ran out of St Andrews Court, and site work meant hands-on jobs like tank cleans and pipework disinfections — long before the days of digital data and remote monitoring. Our first company van, seen in a photo from 1994, was a true workhorse, and so were the floppy disks we used for storage!

From there, we moved into our first proper office space at Severn House in 1994, followed by Stockwood Business Park in 1998 - where we still operate today. Fast-forward to 2024, and we’ve expanded to a second office, reflecting the continued growth of our team and services.

👨‍🔬 People at the Heart of It

Our founder, Jim, didn’t just start a company; he built a culture based on quality, trust, and looking after people. From Sophia’s first water hygiene lesson at Hilton Hotel in 1991 to becoming our Managing Director, Aqua Protec remains proudly family-led.

As the team has grown, so has the range of people behind our success; engineers, lab techs, customer support staff, project managers, and more. We’ve celebrated milestones together, shared office dogs and birthday cakes, and created a workplace where people stick around because they care about what we do.

💧 Then, Now, and the Future

From paper reports to AquaRemote. From filters and flushing to full PPM regimes. From a single office to national reach. While things have changed, our mission hasn’t: to protect people through clean, safe water and to do it with integrity and expertise.
