Aqua Protec recently attended a careers event at Worcester College in partnership with the local NHS Trust, giving students an insight into the varied and rewarding careers available within the water hygiene and compliance industry.

Representing Aqua Protec, Chris spoke to students about the important role water safety plays in protecting building users across healthcare, education, commercial, and residential environments. The presentation covered the services we deliver every day, including water sampling, temperature monitoring, TMV servicing, Legionella control, and wider compliance activities that help organisations meet their legal and safety obligations.
Alongside explaining what we do and why it matters, Chris also shared his own career journey, discussing his experiences from college through to his current role within the industry. By providing a real-world perspective, students were able to gain a better understanding of the opportunities available and the different pathways that can lead to a successful career.
The session also explored what employers look for when recruiting apprentices and new starters. Rather than focusing solely on qualifications, Chris highlighted the importance of attitude, reliability, willingness to learn, and turning up every day with a positive approach.
Supporting future talent is an important part of Aqua Protec's commitment to the communities we serve. Events such as these provide a valuable opportunity to engage with young people, showcase an often-overlooked industry, and encourage the next generation of professionals who will help maintain safe and compliant water systems in the future.
We would like to thank Worcester College and the NHS Trust for the invitation and for giving us the opportunity to share our experiences with the students!
