Every year, Aqua Protec chooses a Charity of the Year at our Summer Social event. Employees suggest options, and we select the charity through an anonymous vote. We have specific requirements. Primarily, we want the charity to be local, impacting our community. It should provide a service or product that fundamentally improves the lives and experiences of that community.

This Year’s Charity: St Richard’s Hospice

This year, we are delighted to announce that we have chosen St Richard’s Hospice as our Charity of the Year. St Richard’s Hospice provides care to individuals with progressive illnesses during the final chapters of their lives. This incredible local charity offers specialist hospice care, helping to bring comfort, dignity, and even moments of joy to individuals during their final days. Their work extends beyond patients, providing vital support to families and loved ones during such difficult times.

Exciting Fundraising Events Ahead

We’re already gearing up for some exciting fundraising events this year. Our first event in support of St Richard’s Hospice will take place next month on Saturday, 14th September. Members of our team will be taking on the Wolf Run. This intense 5km obstacle course is designed to be fun and challenging, while also being a little bit muddy.

Involving mud, water, climbing, crawling, and more than a little determination, it’s certainly going to be a challenge for our team. However, we can’t think of a better reason to push ourselves than to raise money for such an important cause. By partnering with St Richard’s Hospice, we hope to raise awareness and funds to help them continue their compassionate and essential services in our community.

Quiz Night: A Test of Knowledge for a Good Cause

In addition to the Wolf Run, we also plan to swap mud for mental agility by participating in the Quiz Night at ‘The Green’ in St Richard’s Hospice later this year. We’ll be putting our knowledge (and maybe our guesswork) to the test, all in the name of charity. We look forward to supporting their mission throughout the year and will be sharing details of other upcoming fundraising activities soon.
